Promises of FoodPorn

You know what’s the best/worst part about having a weekend getaway with your best friend? YOU EAT EVERYTHING! Ha ha, I just pictured two girls just eating anything and everything they could get their hands on and then end up looking like the Blueberry girl from Willy Wonka. Thankfully, we made it out safe and sound without gaining more than 10lbs. Kidding..i’m kidding. However, we did take the liberty of indulging ourselves in little dessert cafes, and delicious seafood restaurants. Here are some spots to go to if you’re ever in the area of Boston or Providence, Rhode Island.

1. Finale Desserterie & Bakery (Boston):
Desserts range between 6-10 dollars a piece but believe me when I tell you that they taste like heaven the in mouth. We had the creme brulee, triple layer chocolate cake, a latte, and of course a cappuccino. It’s a cozy place right in the middle of Harvard.

2. Pour House Bar & Grill (Boston):
We stopped here for drinks and fried mac and cheese bites. I don’t even want to imagine how much calories were in each bite but that cheesy goodness was too good for us to stop. The Vodka and tonics were a nice touch with it. It looked to be a mid-20s crowd.

3. Tasty Burger (Boston):
Fast burger joint that asks you whether you want your burger medium or well. Do you guys ever dip your fries in chocolate shake?? YUM. We had the original burgers, onion rings, fries, coke and chocolate shake.

4. Cafeteria (Boston):
They had the best fried ice cream and this lovely drink called “cappuccinotini” which is exactly what it sounds like. It’s was strong but very good. Being that Boston was so cold that night, the drink helped warm us up!

5.  Island Creek Oyster Bar (Boston):
Unfortunately with this place, the only problem was that they didn’t do reservations and it was really crowded. Aside from that, the food was absolutely divine and the service was nice! My friend tried raw oysters for the first time and she liked it. It’s definitely a classy spot and would be a nice place to take your significant other. We had a dozen oysters, the crab cakes, clam chowder, and lobster served over ice.ImageImage

6. Union Oyster House (Boston):
Her dad really wanted lobster, and this place definitely had a great selection in size! Of course, like anywhere else, it was a pretty penny. What really drew me to this place was the ambience you felt being there. I just love that Boston has so many great choices in seafood restaurants. I remember being in Mississippi and the best thing they had for seafood was “Red Lobster”.

7. Marisol’s Cafe (Dartmouth, MA):
I’m a little biased to this one because it’s in the town over from me. However, if you ever get the chance to try a Chippi…you won’t be sorry. This place is infamous for it’s sexy lattes.

Image8. Geppetto’s Grilled Pizzeria (Providence, Rhode Island):
A nice change from all the seafood we were having. This Italian restaurant had a huge selection of creative pizzas. We tried the Bolognese pizza and it was different from the usual Papa Ginos for me. I liked it though. Any restaurant on Federal Hill deserves two thumbs up!

And that concludes our indulgent weekend of food! If anyone has the chance to visit any of those restaurants, be sure to let me know what you think! And if you have any recommendations about somewhere you’ve been in these areas, please share. Other than that, HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
