Dude, the 90s are back!! Cropped tops, overalls, and music. Okay, music never really disappeared (hello, BSB!)– I still jam to them daily. I will always be a fan of boybands. Judge me, I don’t care. Anyways, I went out and bought a pair of overalls a few months back and do you know how uncomfortable it is to wear overalls? This is a prime example of why girls go out of their way to be uncomfortable…ALL FOR A FASHION STATEMENT! Do you think g-strings are comfortable?? NO! They’re not. And neither are overalls. They bunch in the front and ride up you so bad (heaven forbid you have a long torso) and it’s a pain in the behind to go to the bathroom in. You better pray to the lord above that your straps don’t fall into the toilet. But it is cute, nonetheless.

Weather in DC is definitely reflecting the Spring season. We got to enjoy the nice sun and low 60s while Massachusetts still had low 40s. Warmer weather really puts people in a much better mood. I know I was more energetic and enthusiastic about being outdoors these past few days. Because the weather was so lovely, I took it upon myself to take this opportunity to throw on my favorite casual spring attire! WELCOME SPRING! My personal style is wearing what’s comfortable and cute. I wear basic colors but sometimes I like to add in a vibrant piece just to bring out the outfit. I’m also a broke college student and can’t really afford many name brand things, and that means I shop at places like Charlotte Rousse, Forever 21, and of course Target (or Tarje, if you’re fancy). Brands are nice, and I value the small amount of name brand things that I do have but lack of brand shouldn’t deter you from looking super adorable! I hope you guys like my look!

We had a bit of a warm front that came through New England. It was warm enough to just wear a sweater and not freeze my bum off! I called my friend/photographer Shawn for a quick impromptu 10 min photoshoot and I think we’re becoming professional at these quick meetings. Ha, I really liked how these photographs turned out.

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a a pair of skinny jeans, oversized sweater and some cute ankle boots. Most of my fall/winter everyday outfits are similar to this. I just find it comfortable and casual. Plus, you’re never too dressed down or too dressed up. It’s cute!

No, seriously. I have never enjoyed running. I don’t enjoy how I start cramping after 5 mins, I don’t enjoy the feeling of my legs burning, and I certainly don’t enjoy running for a long period of time. Mostly, I really can’t stand running for miles and miles because I grow bored. I never run more than 2.5 miles and the only reason why I even keep up with that is to maintain my 2 mile run for the military. I do 5k’s (fun runs) with my friends when it involves glow stuff, getting dirty, and lots of music. I find that there are better and more effective ways to doing cardio than running distances.
Interval Training Warm up by jogging for a minute or two. Sprint 30 seconds and rest for 60
Or what I like to do for cardio is to get on a treadmill with a 15 incline and a speed of 4.0 — put a weighted vest on and powerwalk for 20 minutes. I guarantee that you will be sweaty and it’s a lot harder than it sounds.
I do, however, enjoy running on the beach because it’s calming and the sand provides great resistance. Here is a great website that can explain both the benefits and the dangers of running on the beach. Like everything else, if you do things in moderation then you should not have a problem.
BCBGeneration – The Renee evening sandals. 4.5 inch heels, rhinestone covered straps.
I go through these phases where I blow money on the most unnecessary things. Let me explain, shoes are not unnecessary however I do consider them to be more of a luxury than a necessity. So technically I don’t need to buy these sparkly-make-me-feel-like-Carrie-Bradshaw shoes but when I’m walking through the store and they literally scream at me (the shoes, not the employees [I hear voices?] ), practically begging me to buy them.. I can’t help but reluctantly hand over my black mastercard for the size six in nude.
Just as the cheerful-as-a-jolly-judy would, the woman thanked me with a big smile on her face as she handed me the bag with the receipt placed in it. You would think that’s it, right? I can leave the store and not make another purchase– at least not for shoes. Yeah, that’s where you’re wrong. I was close to the door when I saw these nude ankle boots that was made me say, “what’s one more?”. Part of me was hoping that they didn’t have my size because that would be the only excuse for me to not buy these sexy-Rachel-Bilson-posing shoes. BUT of course, as the Shoe Gods would have it, they had it in my size as well as four different colors.

I had originally gone in the store to purchase a Christmas present, but instead left with these two gems as well as two pairs of boating shoes. Why would I need sperrys now? I don’t know but I got them. -Shoeaholic.
